Okay I reckon that the sailor should tell everyone how to reach land. The elderly man who knows the cure to cancer should try explain it to everyone. I would like to choose the pregnant woman, but can they swim well?

1 - sailor can navigate 2 - the 2 year old has her whole life ahead of her 3 - pregnant woman is going to bring another life into the world (bringing 6 people, cost effective!) 4 - person is rich and donating to charity - helpful to the world 5 - selflessness is almost non-existant nowadays - who WOULDN'T bring themselves!?! lol

I don't think I could put my own name forward. Unless you feel that you REALLY had something more to give to the world, I reckon it's okay to want to stay in the boat and left someone else go instead of you. But we're not judging at all here =P I'd begin by choosing people who are less likely to survive long treading water ie: two-year old, pregnant woman, elderly person, possibly the ten-year old kid who's blind also?

oh is there any way that you could do a rotation system? LIke every half hour or so you can sway with someone in the boat? Therefore everyone has a greater chance of survival?

I'd say... get the cure out of the old lad, defo!!! The sailor, for obvious reasons! The teenage troublemaker, because without them, their family has nothing! the middle aged man with the big family and the pregnant woman, because that's two birds with one stone!!!

well i'm going by more the morality involved with letting these people DEFINATELY die - I couldn't bring myself to leave the 2 year old or the pregnant woman behind...and if I WERE to stay behind I'd bring the firefighter - quite useful =] luckily for the sailor he's a "must-have" passenger =s

I don't see the point in bringing the old person with the cure for cancer - ask them and memorize it because they're not going to make the trip =s
